I had this picture in my mind of my DE getting his 182mmcsweeney knuckles up, and he was ready to play. I mean, it would be sooo much fun to hear the howserdaws at that party! But, then again, he’s my friend too. So, maybe we could just have some small talk? ok? YES!!! That’s what i did. I slipped him a few questions about me and the book he’s reading and his response was nothing but yeses! Then on to the party… sure enough, right next door was The Party with All the Lingerie. No idea where they got their name but it sounded great! It made sense that they would have one as a theme, so we all went for one!
What was your most memorable book reading party?
So, this was our first ever book club. I have to say, it was a blast. We got loads of questions and I got lots of ideas. We even went to a local library to borrow some books. Why you should host your own books club
MY CHILDREN’S LIBRARY! We got our first guided reading group book, Our Library, which taught us so much! We also got the opportunity to meet some wonderful authors, learn about self-publishing and listen to amazing stories. Reading groups are a great way to bring your books club together. They also add a lot of fun because everyone is learning new skills.
What would your perfect books club look like?
If you’re looking for a club that has everything, this is the club for you! We have character study groups, oral history groups, creative writing groups, film and TV groups, and finally, a creative writing club. We’ve got classics, contemporary reads, and books that are specific to our club lasenorita.
Tips for hosting a great book club
– Put your club goals in a goal statement. This is a great way to define what your book club would like to accomplish. – Set up a calendar. This is super helpful when it comes to bringing events up-to-date. It will help keep everything on track!- Create a guestbook. This will allow you to diffuse negative comments and comments you don’t want to carry forward- Add categories to the guestbook. For example: Authors, Young Adult, Children’s, & Nature. – On the ‘To-Do’ tab, tap ‘add’ to add a new category. For example: ‘Video Games,’ ‘Books,’ ‘Musical,’ ‘Travel.’ – Tag the completed work. This will make it easier to find the book in your club files. – On the ‘To-Do’ tab, tap ‘complete’ to add your book to the cart. – If you’re adding a new club, place your order. This will only be active while you’re in the mood to read! – Once you have the books, store them in your favourite file- Management will be tricky because we love to bring books home. So, we have a good idea how many we need, but we don’t often have enough! So, we try to keep them in the garage. – The one thing we always recommend is having a meeting place. This will keep everything organized, and makes it easier to ask questions and find improvement opportunities. You can also set up a list of members, and have a meeting room. – Once a month, check if there’s anything you can do to make the club better. Don’t be shy! We love to read, and have tons of ideas! So, we just want to make the club better!
