20 Ways to Make Your Home More Energy-Efficient

    PetersionBy PetersionJune 30, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

There are several ways to increase your home’s energy efficiency. Not only can you save money on your utility bills, you’ll also improve your indoor comfort. Plus, energy efficiency helps protect the planet from global warming. Excessive energy use contributes to global warming. Conventional power production releases pollutants into the air, soil, and water supplies. To save energy and money, try installing ceiling fans and installing air filters.

An older home may be charming and rustic, and may have a rich history. However, it may be draining on your energy bill. Because it doesn’t have advanced systems like central heating and air conditioning, it may not be very energy-efficient. Thankfully, you can make a number of easy energy-efficient upgrades to your home without breaking the bank. Below are 20 simple, inexpensive ways to make your home more energy-efficient:

Don’t leave electronics on standby. Standby mode is the most common way to waste energy. Many electronic appliances are often left on standby, but you don’t realise how much power they’re actually consuming. Most people think that leaving one of these on standby doesn’t make any difference, but in reality it can contribute to huge amounts of energy wasted in the UK. Installing LED energy-efficient light bulbs is another smart way to cut your energy bill. Some of these bulbs have a lifespan of up to 25 years.

A smart thermostat offers many energy-efficient features, including timed programming for when you’re away from home. This way, you don’t have to keep adjusting the thermostat manually. Another way to make your home more energy-efficient is by replacing outdated light bulbs. Consider LED bulbs, which last about 25 times longer than traditional bulbs and use 75 percent less energy. Although they may be more expensive than conventional bulbs, LEDs will more than offset the cost.
